Setup guide

Using a goal list as a live progress graphic

A to-do overlay turns stream objectives into a shared visual checklist. It works well for challenge runs, creative sessions, study streams, and event schedules where viewers benefit from seeing what is complete and what comes next.

Setup

  1. Write one concrete goal per line and add a short heading.
  2. Mark completed items in the configuration and preview the crossed-out state.
  3. Copy the URL into OBS and reserve enough height for every item.

Best practices

  • Keep the list to the goals viewers need now; archive completed phases between broadcasts.
  • Start each item with an action verb so progress is easy to understand.
  • Avoid placing private client names, addresses, or unreleased project details in a public overlay URL.

Troubleshooting

  • If edits do not appear, update the Browser Source URL to the newly generated value.
  • Unexpected wrapping means the source needs more width or a smaller font.
  • Use saved overlays when you need to return to and edit the same list repeatedly.
