Using Kick live viewer data
The Kick viewer overlay reads the current live-session audience for a public channel. Offline channels normally report zero, and provider changes or caching can temporarily affect update timing.
Setup
- Enter the channel slug from the Kick URL.
- Style the preview for the scene where it will be used.
- Paste the generated overlay URL into OBS and test it while the channel is live.
Best practices
- Describe the metric as current viewers rather than total reach.
- Allow room for peak-event digit growth.
- Keep a fallback scene if a platform API is temporarily unavailable.
Troubleshooting
- Confirm the channel is live when testing a zero.
- Remove spaces and the kick.com portion from the username.
- Refresh the OBS source cache after editing parameters.
